Here are some recommendations so you can enjoy this walk to the fullest. We suggest wearing comfortable footwear, since the tour is completely on foot for about two hours and passes through very crowded areas. Depending on the season, it’s important to bring water and sunscreen in summer, or a coat and umbrella in winter. In spiritual places like Hanazono Shrine, please maintain a respectful attitude. Take advantage of photo opportunities of the panoramic views from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and the vibrant energy of Kabukichō; always remember to respect establishment rules and avoid photos in private spaces where it’s not allowed. Note that in traditional areas like Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai many small bars do not accept cards, so it’s advisable to carry some cash. Keep an open mind to discover the contrasts of Shinjuku, a district that combines offices, modernity, nightlife, and historic corners. Regarding safety, Kabukichō is a lively area and generally safe for tourists, but we recommend staying on main streets and avoiding entering places without a reliable recommendation.
